Pushing up and down

Roots are strengthened in patience and trust

Gaining nutrients beneath the layers of soil and ancestry

Shoot up through dirt and blades of grass

Barks exposing what is necessary in order to spread limbs and bear fruit

green broad leaves play with the wind

As limbs dance and reach upward

Still standing

after cycles of shedding, renewing

After hurt and disaster

Still standing

Healing and growing
